Rodgers targets FA Cup Final for Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers believes Liverpool have a great chance of making it to the FA Cup Final, starting with a victory over Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.

Liverpool Arsenal, FA Cup

Liverpool face the Gunners on the back of a close-cut victory over Fulham, in which Steven Gerrard scored a last minute penalty to give the visitors the victory at Craven Cottage.

Speaking after the game, Rodgers stated his belief that Liverpool can progress in the competition, despite the game with Arsenal undoubtedly being a tough fixture.

"It's a difficult game but we want to get to The Final, that's the key thing," Rodgers stated in his post-match press conference.

"It's an important game for us and we had an outstanding performance against them [on Saturday]. They've obviously drawn tonight and like us will want to get into the next round.

"For us, though, our confidence level is very high and the belief in what we are doing is at a really good level, we'll just have to continue with that."

Arsenal took action following their 5-1 drubbing by Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, putting in a much more assured defensive display in their goalless draw with Manchester United on Wednesday night.

And with the fixture set to take place at the Emirates, rather than Anfield, it's likely the Gunners will put up a much strong fight than they did in Merseyside on Saturday.
