In the build-up to Liverpool's trip to the Emirates on Sunday, we look back at some of the memorable clashes between the two clubs in the FA Cup.

Arsenal Liverpool FA Cup

Prior to the 2001 final Gerard Houllier's Liverpool had already lifted the League Cup in Cardiff, the temporary home of England's cup competitions during the construction of Wembley.

The Reds also had a UEFA Cup final to look forward to in Dortmund shortly after the FA Cup clash, meaning Houllier had to carefully ponder his team selection for the match with the Gunners.

The game stayed goalless until 18 minutes from the end, when Fredrik Ljungberg deservedly put Arsenal one nil up, firing home from close range.

But Michael Owen responded eight minutes from time, with the ball falling perfectly for him to fire home the equaliser after a scramble in the box.

The young striker completed the turnaround in the dying minutes, when he ran on to a long ball played forward by substitute Patrik Berger, firing past David Seaman for the winner.

You can see the full-highlights of the game in the video below.
